# ENV

`ENV [key=value...]` or `BUILD ENV [key...]`

The `ENV` instruction persistently sets environment variables in this Layerfile

### Examples

* `ENV PATH=$GOPATH/bin:$PATH` adds `$GOPATH/bin` to the existing path.
* `ENV CI=hello` sets the variable `$CI` to the value `hello`.
